Ceramics for Soccer | (Art)Works for Change
A 501(c)(3) non profit organization that is dedicated to helping children in impoverished areas and developing countries gain the resources and equipment necessary to play and enjoy the "beautiful game"
The Artist:
All of the pieces sold on this website were made and produced by award winning artist Matthew Wich. Matthew Wich attends Trumbull High School in Trumbull, CT, and is currently a senior. He has practiced ceramics for four years, this being his fourth, and has experimented with different forms, glazes, and textures. He currently plays soccer for Inter CT FC, and formerly on the Connecticut Olympic Development Team. He is a firm believer in the fact that sports can make a difference in a child's life, and wants to be able to give that opportunity to children all around the world, regardless of race, ethnicity, wealth, gender, or religion. He looks to combine two of his passions, ceramics and soccer, into a non-profit that will help hundreds of young soccer players in developing countries.
The Company:
Ceramics for Soccer was established to help youth in impoverished communities gain access to the resources necessary to play soccer. Through a partnership with the Aspiras Foundation, all donations, and profits from selling the handmade ceramics found on this website will go directly to supporting children in poor communities to be able to enjoy and play "the beautiful game."
